Minor Things

I’m 2 years into my broadcasting degree, and I need to start thinking about a minor… I want to work in audio/radio production, but I don’t know what minor would accompany that best! I’ve considered communications, music business, business, and a whole bunch of others. I’ve got internships lined up with some radio stations in the upcoming year as well to get some more experience under my belt…

What exactly does minoring in something do to benefit you? Can you get a career in the field of your minor if the field of your major doesn’t work out? For example if someone majored in science and minored in music, but didn’t like what the science field offered after graduation, could they pursue a field in music from their minor?

I am currently an undergraduate freshman at a particular university. Unfortunately, my major doesn’t provide much flexibility and therefore it is very difficult to obtain a minor. Additionally, my school does not accept transfer credit other than AP tests, etc. I would like to minor in business, preferably by taking classes in a school near my hometown over the summer. Would this be possible?

Im a Biology Major, and I’m trying to decide whether or not pursuing and spending a portion of my time in a minor is worth it. Would not having a minor hurt my chances? I feel like having the extra work of pursuing a minor would hurt my GPA, in that I wouldn’t spend enough time on the other subjects that matter more…

At Northeastern they offer double majors:
International Affairs and Anthropology
International Affairs and Economics
International Affairs and Environmental Studies
International Affairs and Foreign Language
International Affairs and Political Science

What would be a good combination?
I plan obtain a minor in psychology.

I speak fluent Portuguese and Spanish. I was planning on taking some classes to brush up on formal speaking.

What exactly is a minor and do you have to complete all the courses for the degree? I was thinking of minoring in anthropology but I really dont want to take a language again so can you still minor in something without taking all the courses?

I am a few classes short of receiving my Bachelor Degree in Health Service Administration. This is before the college changed the program. Just recently my college has added the choice of a minor for this degree. The choices are: marketing, finance, human resources, psychology, and computer information systems. I can’t decide which minor to select. My questions are which minor would be the best choice for my future as health care manager? Second, what kind of career paths can I qualify for with my Bachelors Degree combined with each minor?
