Yes it would be considered a crime, but who ever transported the minor is up for even bigger crimes like transporting a minor across state lines. You or your family would be charged with harboring a runaway. You should be asking why this person did what they did, often there is not a good reason for running away. This person you are harboring probably has no valid reason, and remember if they are under 16 they need to be in school. If they do happen to have a reason for running, then they needed to contact child protective services or the police, not hiding out and endangering the well being of someone else.
